Marshall is going to be a big brother in August!
This is how I announced it on Facebook...
On November 30th I took a pregnancy test and it was positive! I couldn't believe it! I didn't feel pregnant at all so I was surprised!
Just as I was starting to feel a little like my pre-mommy self we decided to do it all over again. I still had 7 lbs to lose from my first pregnancy but I know that's nothing in the grand scheme of things. We wanted our kids close together and thought why not keep the sleep deprivation, bottles, diapers, etc. going? After realizing how fast pregnancy goes by and seeing how fast the first year of Marshall's life went by I realized all the hard times pass quickly and it's all worth it! So let's do it again!
7 week ultrasound- teeny tiny bean!!
I'm not fond of these pictures of me but I wanted to compare my bump to
my first bump. Looks like I'm carrying higher this time.
I had a 12 wk ultrasound which I didn't have with Marshall. Everything looked great! Heartbeat was 163!
She even did a couple 3-D pics which I think are a little creepy. Who's with me on that one?
But he/she looks so cozy!! I wish I could just lay there and sleep all day like they do!
Weeks 6-13 Stats
Lbs. gained- 0 lbs. woo hoo!
Feeling- Morning sickness hit hard this time around right at 6 weeks. I was nauseous from the middle of the night until the end of the day. If my stomach was empty it was really really bad. But then I figured out my prenatal vitamins were causing some of the nausea. So I stopped taking those and switched to Flintstones per my doctor's recommendations and felt a little better then switched to gummy prenatals. Preggie pops also help as well as essential oils like lemon and peppermint.
It still comes and goes but is a LOT better! I am beyond exhausted especially on work days, but Rob has been so great helping out as much as he can with Marshall and the house stuff. I started getting really bad sinus headaches during my 11th week. I rub Peppermint oil into my temples/sinuses and it helps but not as much as medicine would.
Food Cravings- Cheese and crackers (just like last time!), pizza, sun chips, Chex mix, soup or nothing sounds good most days but I eat to relieve the nausea. I wake up in the middle of the night and have the worst hunger pains. If I don't get up and eat I can't go back to sleep. A couple times I had to get up twice to eat! I'm sick of eating some days!
Drinking- Water mostly. Fruit water is great too because it has B6 which relieves nausea and gives me energy. I gave up coffee! I'm going to try and give it up the whole pregnancy but we will see...It sounds gross right now!
Wearing- I started wearing maternity leggings at 7 weeks. Not all the time but the leggings are so much more comfortable. Much better than my pants pushing into my stomach. I started wearing mat jeans around 10 weeks. I feel like I just put my mat clothes away!
So overall the first trimester has been pretty rough with nausea and exhaustion but hopefully it will pass soon.
