Rob started off Fathers Day weekend finishing a project he's been wanting to complete since last summer- Backyard Landscaping! If you read my blog regularly you might remember when he dug out flower beds in our backyard and ordered 9 yards of dirt to make them raised. He did this last summer while I was in Ky.
Here's the before pic...
After...
He wants to add a fountain and more stones eventually.
On Sunday we woke up and I made bacon sandwiches per Rob's request. He loves bacon! Of course I didn't have time or remember to buy the bacon, bread, or a Father's Day card so he had to go out and buy the food Sunday morning. Mommy fail! But hey it's the thought that counts! Online shopping is soooo much easier with a baby. I did have time to work on a little piniterest project for Father's Day. I saw this on piniterest and thought that can't be too hard.
But let me tell it is NOT easy to take pictures of a very active 6 month old. Also, the pictures didn't turn out as well as I had hoped but once again it's the thought that counts right?
Here's the finished product...
Sorry for the poor picture quality but I'm lucky to even be posting this.
I also ordered Rob a canvas picture from Ms newborn pics, a thermos mug for his coffee, and a pair of collar stays that say "Happy Fathers day" on one and "I love you" on the other. What are collar stays you ask? They are inserts that go in the shirts of collars to help them keep their shape. This is kind of an inside joke between us because I didn't know what they were. There were these plastic things sitting on the dryer one day and I threw them away not knowing they go back in the collar after you wash them. Oops! So I ordered a solid pair that will never get mistaken for trash again!
I also bought a picture frame for his desk. He was probably thinking Enough with the pictures already! Haha!
Oh and I ordered this onesie form Etsy that says First Father's Day.
We hung around the house in the morning and watched M play. The we decided to go to our favorite outdoor mall, Easton, for some lunch. It was such a beautiful day! We ate on the patio at Bon vie!
M was very content in his stroller watching the people go by! He's a people watcher!
What a great first Father's Day!
Here are some outakes of the DAD picture project!
HaHa! What Fun!
