This last week we have had CABIN FEVER with a capital C! It is just too darn cold to go anywhere with a newborn, it has snowed most days, and its cold and flu season. Yuck!
This is how M feels about the snow!
Get me out of here!
I was so desperate for milk one day I drove through the drive through of a fast food place and ordered a couple individual milks so I didn't have to take him out of the car. Yuck! It didn't taste the same as milk from a gallon. It was thick and almost sugary tasting. Makes you wonder what they add to it.
Before the really bad weather hit and we were stuck indoors, we took our first trip to the mall. It was just baby M and I. I had a blast, but I don't know about him. Hehe. It was so nice to walk around! He was awake at first but fell asleep soon after we got there. Once we got to the mall he lasted about an hour before he was hungry. I haven't mastered nursing in public yet so we left.
The blanket thing you see over him is called a "bundle me" and the brand is JJ cole. It is a must if you have a baby in cold weather.
He went with me to my 6 week postpartum check up. The Dr. and nurses couldn't believe all the hair!
I have been waiting anxiously to get the OK from my Dr to start working out again (never thought I would say that)! I really want to lose the last 20 pounds that seem to be sticking to me like glue. They say breast feeding helps shed the pounds but it hasn't happened for me! Now I have to find the time and means to work out. The jazzercise classes that I love offer babysitting a couple days a week but I hate to take him out in the cold. The first Saturday that Rob was home to watch him, it snowed so much the night before that the classes were cancelled! Boo! I'm so over this weather! Give me sunshine please!
I pulled out my yoga mat and did some videos in the living room that I found on YouTube. Holy Ab muscles! They are gone! No one warned me of this! Ahhhh I want my abs back!
The weight would probably come off faster if I stopped making and eating things like these:
They might not look that appetizing but let me tell you they were. It was probably the whole stick of butter! They were gone in 2 days!
So easy to make too! Hey the only thing I can do on these cold frigid days is take care of M and cook every once in awhile. Oh yeah and I watch a lot of TV, go on Facebook way too much, and peruse pinterest every now and then. Speaking of pinterest I found this closet and I really want to figure out how to transform ours into it!
Can you say DREAM CLOSET?
So we've been trying to transition M to his crib at night. The first night in his crib he only slept 4 hours. Before this he had been sleeping in the bassinet for 6-7 hours so 4 was not good. Since his room is on the 2nd floor and our master bedroom is on the first I slept upstairs on the couch so I could be closer to him when he woke up. I think he likes the closeness of the bassinet and swing. Needless to say I gave up quickly and put him back in the room with me. Maybe we'll try again next week!
He loves the swaddle me blanket too!
This is him in my bed. Yes I caved and put him in bed with me when I was desperate for sleep!
I can not believe how much he has grown in 6 weeks! Look how tiny he was:
Dressed up with nowhere to go and mad! Lol
But we did have a visitor, my sweet friend Danielle! M gave her baby fever!
Here is the Birth Announcement
