Wow! My sweet baby is 18 months old! Here's a comparison pick of the first day of school and last day of school. We both went from brown to blonde.
I tried to snap a couple pics before school this day and this was the best I got. Toddlers don't stop!
Stats
Weight: 23.4 lbs
Height: 31 inches
Clothes size: 12-18 months
Diaper size: 4
Teeth: not sure- I can't see in his mouth long enough to count his teeth. I'm guessing between 11 and 13. He has been cutting 3 incisors for the last 3 weeks and let me tell you he is a mess because of it. If we don't give him motrin at night he is up several times a night.
Language: He says over 30 words and seems to pick up a new word every day. It is crazy how their vocabulary grows at this age. I started keeping track of his words in my phone but now I'm starting to lose count. Here's what I have- ball, no, go, uh oh, mama, daddy, ear, eyes, eio, baby, hi, bye, peek a boo, bubbles, cheese, more, nana, fish, yay, off, shoes, papaw, apple, all gone, bee, Elmo, pizza, mine, paci, kitty cat, owl, hola, hello, ok, up, all done, dog. If wants to know where something went, he will say "go?" Or if I leave the room he will say "mama?" When he knows a show is going to end he will say "go?" or "bye-bye". When he wants me to read him a book he says "re-re?" It's so cute when he says these things because he says them in a high pitched voice and makes it sound like a question even though he's only using one word.
Sleep: He will take two hour naps or 1 longer nap. I'm trying to get him to just one nap but it's hard when he is tired at 10:00. At night he still goes down at 7:00 and wakes up around 6:00. A couple other moms I've talked to tell me their kids sleep until 8 or 8:30! I wish!
Eating: He is still a picky eater. His favorites are: popcorn, rice cakes, mac 'n cheese, shredded or string cheese, pears, pasta, crackers. We still give him a night time bottle of warm organic milk. Otherwise he might drink a couple ounces of milk out of a sippy during the day. He loves to drink water and will request wawa multiple times a day.
Personality: He is pretty outgoing when we are out and about playing if he's not tired. But he can be shy at times around new people. Especially if Rob or I are around. He throws temper tantrums if he doesn't get what he wants. I didn't expect this behavior so early but I guess it's pretty typical. If he sees our phones or iPad and we don't let him watch a video it's meltdown city! He also throws a fit if we bring him in from outside. I'm reading "Happiest Toddler on the Block" and it has some helpful tips so far. This toddler stage is tough but so sweet at the same time. When he's in a good mood he is so silly and will sing "No more monkeys jumping on the bed". It's kind of mumbled words but we can tell that's what he's singing. With no music around he will just break into song. It's so cute!

Favorite things:
Toys- Balls, cars, trucks, airplanes
His Daddy- If I want him to go inside or leave the park all I have to say is "Wanna go see Daddy?" He loves his Daddy!

TV/ iPad/ Computers- if he sees a screen of any kind he points to it and says tv over and over again and then will request "Boo" which is one of his favorite shows on Baby first TV. He doesn't understand at other houses they might not have that channel and will get upset at times. Oh my it can be exhausting!
Music- When I say he loves technology he loves to watch any video with songs. He will start moving his arms and head when he hears music. On the way back from Ky my mom and I played a kids cd when he was awake and he loved it. There's no TV in our cars and I would like to keep it this way. But I'm sure I'll give in eventually!
Elmo- Anytime he sees Elmo whether it's on his diaper or at the doctors office on a cup he will shout Elmo over and over again.
Books- He still loves books. He will read books in the car and has his favorites. Right now its an Elmo book, train book, Jesus book, and baptism book. Random right? LOL He's started bringing them to us in the same order every day. I thought this was a little OCD but the Happiest Toddler book says that's normal and makes them feel smart because they know what's coming.
Climbing on any and everything- I walked into the living room and he was on the coffee table!! Ahhhh! I've heard boys are climbers! If we are at a park its exhausting chasing him around because he climbs on the big structures and nearly gives me a heart attack. Especially me being pregnant its hard climbing after him. So I've decided to stick to places that keep him contained this summer.
I can't believe how much he's changed in 18 months!
This was the day he turned 18 months so these will have to do for his pictures.
He is so silly!
