Whirlwind trip to Ky!

While I had the time this summer I wanted to visit some of my KY friends and family. I thought going during the week would be best so Rob wouldn't miss out on spending time with Marsh on the weekend. We left Wednesday morning right when he was due to take a nap and it worked out perfectly! He slept for the first 2.5 hours. He was teething so maybe that helped! I stopped to feed him when he woke up and he did ok the last hour and an half but would have preferred to be out of his car seat.
First stop- Jenny's house! My dear friend and previous coworker is the sweetest person around. I could not have asked for a better mentor teacher my first two years of teaching. I can't believe I didn't get a picture of her or her beautiful daughter with Marsh. She made delicious salads for us and it was great catching up with her. Once Marsh starting getting tired we left and headed to my Mom's house. We decided to go swimming right away. Marsh latest about an hour and it was fun! Once again I didn't take any pictures. It's enough trying to keep up with a 7 month old in the pool.

The next morning we headed over to Kasi's house where we saw Kala, her sister Kasi, their mom Jammie, and Kala's boys. Once again I only took one picture with Kasi and Marsh. It was the first time Jammie had seen Marsh and it was so great seeing Kasi, Kala, and the boys.

Next stop was lunch at Saul Good with Kaylie, Clay, and Peggy! These three were the most excited to meet Marsh! When Kaylie was 8 and Clay was 4 I started babysitting them and did for several years throughout my college days. They are now 18 and 14! Gasp! Kaylie is going to start college at UK in the Fall!  I just can't believe it! During that time I also dog sat for Peggy and her dear Collie, Pete. Those were the days!
Marsh was pretty fussy during lunch because it was his nap time but thank goodness I brought him in the stroller because I pretty much rocked him in it the entire time.

After lunch I went over to Becky's house to meet her sweet new baby, Marigold!
She was pregnant in my wedding with her first daughter, Daisy, who is now 23 months. Lauren and Brooklyn stopped by at the same time. It was so great seeing my BFFs! Marsh held up pretty well considering he only napped for a short time in the car.
After this we headed back to my moms where he slept for 2 hours! Thank goodness! We wore him out! We were supposed to meet up with my dear friend, Rachel and her family but it was just too much for little Marsh with all the other visits we did. :(
He did not sleep well in the pack n play at my Mom's house so we were both tired and but at least he can sleep in the car.
The next day we got up and loaded the car with everything but the kitchen sink! Hehe! It's crazy how much stuff you have to pack for 2 days!
We headed over to my dear friend, Ashley's house! We really wanted her 9 month old, Grayson, and Marsh to finally meet! Marsh loves watching other kids and he just loved meeting Owen, Ashley's 2 year old! He watched him play basketball and just laughed and laughed!

He didn't want to smile for me. Hehe :)

Ashley suggested that M try puffs in the high chair and I wasn't sure if he could pick them because I've tried other finger food and he didn't quite have his pincer grasp down but Ashley was right! He loved them and I am definitely going to get some for our upcoming plane ride! Thanks Ashely!
While Marsh was eating and Owen was playing Ashley and I enjoyed some delicious banana bread and got to catch up on life for a bit.

Once Grayson woke up from his nap he came down to meet Marsh and play!

It was so much fun catching up with Ashley and seeing her adorable boys! Thanks for having us over Ashley!

After this we hopped in the car and headed to Louisville to meet baby Hayes!
I figured M would sleep the entire hour there and I was right.
Leighton and Gracen were excited to see us!

Leighton played with Marsh and rubbed Hayes' head to stop him from crying! Hehe

Marsh is like who is this baby? :) I think I'm going to chew on this toy...

Baby Hayes and his beautiful Mama, Mandy!
He is just perfect in every way and I am so excited she had a boy so that Marsh and him can grow up together!

Of course we had to get a picture with all 4 of them! It was so great seeing my BFF and the time went by way too fast! Love this family!

We headed back to Columbus and Marsh slept the first 2ish hours but the last 2 are a completely different story! He screamed almost the entire last 2 hours home! I felt so bad for him! I guess he doesn't like his car seat. Poor guy! I sang to him as much as I could. He loves the song,"The wheels on the bus" so I sang that so many times and made up so many different lyrics just to keep singing! Phew! I don't know if I will be taking him on a road trip alone for awhile!
The trip was definitely hard on him because he was pretty whiny, fussy, and tired for several days after the trip. It was totally worth it though to see all of my favorite friends and my momma!
