My baby boy is past the half year point! How did this happen?!!!
Stats
Sleep: This poor child was still having trouble sleeping through the night until about 10 days ago when we started sleep training him. We started using the Dr. Ferber method which means if he cries we wait a set time, go in, reassure him, then wait another set time, repeat. It was hard the first couple days but now he goes down for naps without a cry and at night might only cry once but when put his paci back in he goes right back to sleep. So bottom line, it was totally worth it. He now takes two 1.5 hour naps if we are home all day, but if we are out and about he will sleep in the car. At night, he will sleep from about 7:00-6:00 only getting up once to eat around 12:00.
Eating: We are full on eating solids multiple times a day and he loves them! He's eaten bananas, carrots, apples, zucchini, squash, blueberries and different mixes. But I think sweet potatoes are his favorite.
He loves to hold the spoon!
Molly let me borrow her baby bullet and it's so easy to use. I would never buy one since they don't eat purees for very long but it's been great to have! I made some sweet potatoes in my blender but after using the baby bullet I like it much better to purée food.
In this picture I made a zucchini and squash mix. It's really easy. You just steam the food, purée it, and then put it in containers. The bullet comes with 12 of these handy containers and I put them in the freezer to keep longer. The pic in the middle is M watching me make it and he was ready to eat. Hehe!
New things
- He's started saying Bababababa and Mamamama. I don't know if he is really associating the Mamama with me but I like to think so.
- He now has two bottom teeth and I can feel the top ones coming in.
- He sits up on his own. I put pillows around him because sometimes he likes to just fall backward or forward.
- He loves Peek a boo or any silly game.
Things he Loves...
His giraffe
This musical book...
Play remote...and the real remote of course
Swing
We discovered that he still likes the swing even though we thought he outgrew it. I stopped using it once I went back to work but since being home this summer I tried it again and he just laughs and thinks it's a fun ride.
His play mat, this day he was on top and discovered how to get underneath it.
Swing at the park
I took him on the front lawn to take some pictures. I can not get him to smile for the camera. Such a serious baby! The outdoors just chill him out.
He loves mirrors...
I wonder what he is thinking about...

Of course I had to take his 7 month picture in his chair..no tie sticker this time.

These are my favorites...
This last month has been so much fun being home with him. We can't wait to see what the 7th month will bring!
In other exciting news one of my BEST Friends, Mandy, gave birth to her beautiful baby boy yesterday, 7-11-14. His name is Hayes Robert Daniel and he is just perfect! I can NOT wait to meet him! Congrats Mandy and welcome to the boys club!
