38 weeks!

Week 37
This week I was so thankful to be a teacher and only have 2 days of school! Being sick and 37 weeks pregnant is miserable I tell you! I started the week off sick and miserable and exhausted since I can't breathe when I sleep because I can't take any meds. First thing Monday I went to the Obgyn to get blood work done and to double check my blood pressure. All night Sunday I had contractions through my front and lower back so I asked the dr and she said its normal, just my body getting ready. She checked me and said I was still a finger tip dilated. But at least I'm somewhat progressing. I know some people never dilate or progress at all and have to be induced. Monday night Rob took his last CPA test! Yippee! I can not tell you how much he has studied for this over the last year and a half (there are 4 tests total). Please say a prayer that he passed this one. This will be his second time taking it so I'm sure he did great.

It started snowing Tuesday which was exciting for my students and a beautiful wake up on Wednesday!

Wednesday morning I met my friend, Brittany, for brunch and rested the rest of the day which was so nice.

Thursday was Thanksgiving. Rob cooks a delicious turkey, thanks to his Mom's recipe, but this year we decided after all the craziness lately to keep it simple so we got a ham. Cooking a turkey is a lot of work and takes all day the way Rob makes it. He also makes the best stuffing ever! I made green bean casserole and mashed potatoes too!

It was just my mom, Rob, and I.
The holidays are always stressful and emotional for me ever since my grandparents passed away. I associate Thanksgiving with my Mimi and Papaw, Ky, and my Dad's side of the family. I've lived in Ohio for almost six years and my grandparents passed away six years ago in Janaury/February but its still hard. I have realized I need to change my mind set and start new traditions for the holidays. I think having a baby will make the holidays easier and easier. This year I was just thankful to have time off, time with family, a warm house, and good food to eat. Oh yeah and there's that baby that's growing inside of me. I'm really thankful for him too!

On Friday, my mom and I went to lunch and to a couple stores but avoided the main part of the mall as much as possible. The stores we went to weren't so bad for Black Friday.
Rob worked a half day while we shopped. After we all got home Rob put together the swing and the pack 'n play which were both harder than you think to assemble.

The pack 'n play has a changing table and a vibrating chair that required assembly too. Those were the tough parts to put together.

Rob is so good at putting things together. He doesn't get frustrated or give up. I "helped" him as much as I could but was mostly there to hold parts or hand him a screw. I can't believe all the things a baby "needs". Well he could probably survive without a vibrating chair singing to him or a swing that goes in 3 different directions that sounds like my heartbeat or the ocean but needless to say we have lots of things in the house for this baby. It definitely makes it more real that we are really having a baby any day now.

Rob and I love a real Christmas tree so on Saturday we went and picked one out. This is one of my favorite things to do! We made the mistake of going to Home Depot because last year we got a really great tree there. The ones we wanted were all covered in snow and still bundled so we couldn't see how they really looked. I didn't wear a coat, so I was freezing, and my blood sugar was dropping fast. So we quickly picked the best one we could. When we got it home and shook it out we discovered it wasn't the best tree we've ever picked out. It is a little sparse but it's still a real Christmas tree.

This is what it looks like so far. We got all the Christmas decorations out of the basement but only made it to putting the lights on the tree. My plan is to finish it this week. Hopefully baby doesn't come until it's completely decorated because you know it won't get done once he's here.
I decorated some other parts of the house too.

And I bought baby Stan a mini tree for his room! This was so exciting for me!

As you can see there is an M on the tree. I got this ornament from one of my students but we think his name might start with an M also so stay tuned!

Rob also workd on the nursery a bit.  I've been waiting for Rob to finish his tests for weeks so he could finish the nursery. It still needs some final touches so I will post pictures once it's completely done.
Rob also painted the spare bathroom which will be the "baby's" bathroom. It was an ugly shade of bright green before and he painted it Biltmore buff, our favorite color.

I really need a better camera besides my phone. This picture does NOT do it justice. It looks worlds better! So much fresher and clean!

Wow what a busy week!
I realize I am sharing every last detail of every day of my entire week. I'm sure this is boring to most but I think I'm just documenting every moment up until the baby is born. Because when he gets here I know I will be exhausted and have a hard time remembering what life was like without him.

Weigh gained: haven't weighed myself this week :)
Wedding rings are officially off and will probably stay off.
Feeling: emotional, anxious, but excited to meet the baby.
