Wow only 10 more weeks and I will have a baby! I'm starting to freak just a little bit! I'm gonna be a Mom!! That is just crazy to me. Ever since I can remember all I've ever wanted to be was a mom. When I was little and people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up I would say a stay at home mom. I started babysitting when I was 12 and have always loved kids- hence teaching elementary school. So after 18 years of taking care and teaching other peoples' kids I finally get to be a M O M! It's truly surreal. I'm sure when he is born it will feel like he has always been with us! I can't wait to hold him and kiss him and rock him to sleep! I'm so excited for him to get here and just a tad nervous for childbirth.
30 weeks bump
Pregnancy stats:
Weight gained- 25 lbs.
Craving- pumpkin muffins, oatmeal with blueberries, chicken pot pie, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, cookie dough
Feeling- ok. I was feeling really good until this past weekend. I traveled to Ky for one of my best friends weddings and it exhausted me. My feet swelled up because of the car ride on Friday and did not go back down to normal until Monday.
Normal feet
Swollen feet
They say long car rides can make pregnant feet swell. The wedding was totally worth it though. I will write a post all about it this week! I've also been fighting a cold or allergies and a little stomach bug over the last week. Ugh! Welcome back to school!
Baby is approximately 3 lbs and 16 inches. That seems really long to be in my belly. I have been having lots of Braxton hicks contractions over the last couple of weeks. The Dr. says they are normal and to drink more water and rest! Which is really hard to do these days! The baby is moving a ton at night and I can see ripples in my stomach. At times it even hurts when he moves and pokes me.
I feel so blessed because I am getting 3 baby showers. One with girlfriends in Columbus, one at work, and one in Kentucky. Two of them happen to be on the same weekend.
It was super easy. Just cutting up the potatoes was the biggest part. I used chicken thighs and a bag of frozen veggies instead of fresh carrots. I also had a can of cream of mushroom already in the cupboard so I used that in place of one of the cream of chicken. It smelled so good cooking all day. I bought a container with 2 pie crusts. I have not baked with pie crusts much before but they were super easy to just roll on the pan.
I got both invites in the mail last week and had to share.
My mom did the invites for the shower in Ky
So stinkin cute! I'm a sucker for polka dots!
My friend Brittany did the invites for the one in Columbus. It is so cute! I love it!

I am so lucky to have such great friends and family! Baby Stan is lucky too!
No we have not decided on a name yet. We have a couple in mind but we are keeping them a secret since so many people have such strong opinions. Rob went out on his lunch hour and bought a baby name book. It's helped a little.
What I've been up to over the last 2 weeks:
So I live in the Buckeye state and everyone is crazy about OSU football. The first big night game was two Saturdays ago and Rob's friend, Zach, offered him a ticket. He felt bad leaving me out but he never spends time with his friends so I told him to go. I debated on just sitting at home and relaxing but instead I decided to head down to campus and tailgate 7 months pregnant! I picked my friend Jess up and we went to 2 different tailgates. It was actually a lot of fun. We had to park about 30 minutes away but the walking wasn't too bad. The only negative was peeing in the port a potties. It was disgusting! I didn't spend any money either because there was food at both tailgates and I can't drink! I made it all the way to half time before getting tired. I felt bad making Jess leave but at least she had a DD!
We met up with our friend Mary Anne too.
I wore Rob's jersey and sported a bump.
After a couple hours of standing my feet hurt. Everyone was so nice. They got me 2 chairs to sit in and put my feet up. It was so much fun! The bucks beat Wisconsin which was a plus too!
We got an awesome surprise off our registry delivered to our front door.
Our stroller and car seat! Yay! If you can't tell its Buckeye colors. Sorry KY friends but I didn't see UK color options. This is a Graco Fast Action Fold Jogger. It was so easy to assemble (Rob did all the work of course). But it's really easy to open and close and snap the carseat in and out of. The wheels are great too! So far I would recommend this to all mommies! When I got home Rob had it all assembled and ready to go. As he was showing me all the bells and whistles it really hit me hard that we are really going to have a baby! I started to tear up watching him push it around. My first realization I think! Crazy!
I love me a good chicken pot pie so I decided to try making one of my own using my crockpot.
Here's the recipe I found that seemed easy enough.

Not the prettiest pictures but it tasted amazing! I need to learn how to take better food pictures.
As I was rolling out the top layer it tore in a couple spots.
Cooked!
I also had a craving for cookie dough and made this:
I had Halloween chocolate chips! It was pretty good but def not the same.
My friend Bliss and her husband moved to Charlotte, NC a year or two ago. They came to Columbus last week and I made it out to a happy hour to see them at 29 weeks. When I first moved to Columbus 6 years ago I worked at a preschool and met Danielle, the one in purple. She introduced me to Bliss, the one in the stripes. Bliss had just moved to Ohio from Ky too so we immediately bonded. She moved for the same reason as me- to be with her boyfriend who is now her husband. We all lived in the same apartment complex and spent many days laying by the pool, going to happy hours, and working out. So many fun memories of us hanging out!
I promised you classroom pictures weeks ago so here they are:

You look gorgeous mama! I am jealous you got to hang out with Mary Anne and Jess!! We will have to plan a weekend tailgate in Columbus next fall and let the husbands take care of the babies. Your blog made me tear up too, I can't believe you are going to be a mommy soon! You will be the best!! Love you, Ashley
