24 weeks!

Wow! I love saying I'm 6 months pregnant! I'm really feeling pregnant and people in public are recognizing that I am too. It makes it more real!

Meet the teacher night! Almost 24 weeks

24 weeks

Pregnancy stats
Weight gained: 18 lbs.
Craving: same things- anything with cheese- jimmy johns veggie sub- more chocolate and sweets than normal
Feeling: physically- tired and major lower back pain after working in my classroom all week
emotionally- pretty good, just sad about going back to work after having summer off
Happening- insomnia! I've never really had this problem before but this past week I have been waking up in the middle of the night for what seems like hours and I can't go back to sleep. It's awful! Also a couple of those nights I woke up starving! I only got up once and ate a couple crackers. I guess the baby is preparing me for when he gets up in the middle of the night.

Over the last last 2 weeks I have been busy busy getting my classroom set up and ready for the school year. I am teaching 2nd grade for the third year and have the same co-teacher as last year which is wonderful! She is great and it's going to make the school year go so smoothly! However, working in my classroom has made me tired and have lower back pain. I started putting a heating pad on my back every night and it feels wonderful! Our school built a new building for grades 2-5 so I am in a brand new classroom. It is so nice!

I keep forgetting to take pics of the room now so I will on my next post. Oh pregnancy brain!

Rob has been busy mulching the back yard flower beds. He dug them out, loaded top soil himself, and now mulched it himself. Phew, makes me tired thinking about it. The plan was to plant flowers too but he is going to wait until Spring now.

This was all grass before he dug them out.

Much better right?

Rob surprised me with Cirque de Soleil tickets on Saturday. It was such a nice surprise. He said he wanted to take me on a real date. How sweet right? I had never been to the show before and had heard it was a French circus. It was really neat. There were lots of different acts that we were amazed by. The performers probably have to practice 24/7 to perfect their acts. It was set up in a tent. We weren't allowed to take any pictures, which was actually nice because if everyone was flashing pictures it would have been distracting. But here are 2 that I took.

So we have had this on again off again tradition with making nachos on Sunday nights. We used to make them almost every Sunday but haven't in awhile. Rob always makes them and makes them the way his mom did when he was growing up. He takes round tostito chips and covers a large cookie sheet with them. Then he puts shredded cheddar cheese on each individual chip. Next, he puts one jalapeƱo on each chip and bakes them for about 5 minutes. They are not healthy, obviously, but delicious. This past Sunday he made a grocery run at 8:00 for the ingredients and made them while we watched Big Brother, True Blood, and Dexter, our favorite shows.

I usually eat 3 rows and he eats 5 rows. The burnt cheese on the bottom is the best to pick off and eat once the chips are gone. I know, we are so weird!
I just reread this post and it is nothing but randomness! Sorry!
