22 weeks

21weeks

This week we had the anatomy scan. This is usually when you find out the sex but we already knew he's a boy. The tech said everything looked great. He was measuring right on track at 21 weeks. Here are some ultrasound pics of our sweet boy!

22 weeks

I had to go back a couple days later to see my Obgyn because she wasn't in the office when I got my ultrasound. She said everything looked great. I have been having sharp pains in my lower leg under my knee so I asked her about that. She felt around and said it is probably a varicose vein and not a blood clot so I am glad about that. She said to get compression socks so I ordered a pair of these on eBay... I'm gonna look so sweet! NOT!

Pregnancy stats
Weight gained: 17 lbs.-I've been having a really hard time with this number. I gained 5 lbs in 2 weeks which I wasn't happy about. But when I thought about it, the month of July has been nothing but traveling and eating so what else should I expect? It's still hard though.

Craving: Margherita pizzas, potato skins, nachos, guacamole, soup, bacon- no wonder I've gained weight! Wowzer!

Feeling: physically- lower back pain after cleaning or bending down a lot
Emotionally- feeling highs and lows. Last week I felt more lows. I don't know if it was the weight gain, thinking about starting back to school, anxiety about the unknowns of pregnancy, childbirth, child care, money, or the fact that someone (I will not name) looked at me and said "wow you've gained weight". This person knew I was pregnant. I need to ignore what others say and not let it bother me but its hard to ignore blatant rude comments. Also Rob found out he didn't pass his 4th CPA test which I'm so bummed about for me and him. This means 3 more months of studying. But it's got to get done before the baby is born. I'm writing all of this on my blog because I don't want people to think my life is perfect and I'm happy 24/7. Also I'm writing it so I remember the highs and the lows of life and pregnancy. I really feel so blessed and lucky to have this miracle growing inside of me and healthy as can be.

Working out: yes 3-4 times per week 1 hr each time aerobics and strength training.

I made Margherita pizzas for Rob and I last weekend and they were delicious! So delicious in fact I bought individual pizza crusts for dinner for myself. Rob sticks to Paleo throughout the week.

All I did was buy pizza crusts, fresh mozzarella, basil, and roma tomatoes. I already had olive oil and Italian seasoning (herb mixture). First I preheated the oven to 450. Next, I brushed the crust with olive oil mixed with Italian seasoning. Then I cut up the fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil and spread them out on the pizza.

After- yummy!

Well in the middle of making the first one Rob came in and said don't you need pizza sauce? I said no but I can make some. So on the 2nd crust I added tomato purée mixed with Italian seasoning and shredded mozzarella cheese too. I happened to have the tomato purée in the pantry. Rob actually liked the first one more.

After- delicious!

Both were pretty good and not too bad for my first time!

I will leave you with a funny picture of our cat Sophie laying on Rob. She loves her some Rob!
