We woke up Wednesday morning, ate breakfast at our hotel, and headed over to Epcot. When we arrived we noticed there were far less people than Magic Kingdom and were relieved!
Spaceship Earth
We decided to go check out Future World West first. We went straight to the ride Soarin' since it is one of Rob's Mom's favorites. There was a 50 minute wait which sounded way too long for me but Rob convinced me to stay. My lower back and feet were already killing me at this point. The ride is a virtual tour of California. It makes you feel like you are hang gliding so it was fun. I didn't take any pictures since it was a virtual ride.
Next we decided to ride on Living with the Land. I was so happy that it was an air conditioned ride with no wait. It was probably one of my favorites though. It is a boat ride that takes you through the greenhouses of Epcot. It had some educational videos along the way as well.
Huge Pineapples
Cucumbers being grown in the air!
Sweet Potato Tree
Tomato tree
Next we decided to check out Spaceship Earth. When we first came into the park we wanted to ride it but there were all these middle school tour groups from Brazil in line. Like 100s of kids so we decided to come back. It was so much fun we rode it twice that day!
After this we walked back to Future World West and rode Finding Nemo. I know we are such dorks, but once again it was cool inside, no wait, and sitting down. Attached was an aquarium which was neat too!
After this we were ready for lunch. It was getting hot and we wanted to go to the world showcase with all the countries to eat. The closest country to us was Mexico. Mexican food is probably one of our favorites! Mexico had this neat Aztec building with an indoor market, a restaurant, and a ride! Once again it was great because it was all indoor and air conditioned!
We ate at the San Angel Inn. It was delicious.
While we were waiting for our food I made Rob take a picture of me. I look delirious!
It was really dark because they were trying to emulate nighttime so it was really hard to take an pictures. While we were eating we watched people go by on the boat ride.
We rode the ride when we were done eating. It was another boat ride and it was like a Mexican version of It's a small world.
After this I decided I needed a break so we went back to the hotel room for a bit. It was the hottest time of the day so it was a good idea. Once we rested we came back to Epcot and rode Spaceship Earth again.
The view of world showcase from afar.
Next we really wanted to see The American Adventure which is a show that shows the past and future of America. It was a really long walk in the blazing sun to get to America. We didn't know that a boat would take you across the water to it. Lesson learned for next time. I was dying in the heat. Rob stopped and got me some ice and water.
We made it just in time for the next show to start. Once again I loved it because of the A/C and it was 30 minutes long! We weren't allowed to take pictures during the show but here are 2 before.
Next we decided to find a place for dinner. I had a reservation for 5:45 but it was 6:00. I didn't even look on the Disney App to see where the reservation was. Italy was close to America so we walked over to see what they had to eat.
We decided on this place. We waited a couple of minutes. We ordered a Margharita pizza and salad. It said the pizza would be good for 2-3 people. I should have taken a picture because it could have fed 6 people! It was huge. We ate almost the entire thing! It was delicious! It had fresh mozzarella, tomatoes. and basil. I looked at the Disney app and realized that I had made a reservation for the exact same place which is hilarious because we randomly chose it. Good to know that not all of my reservations are bad choices.
We kind of skipped over several countries on our way to America so we decided to back track. We went to Norway and rode this ride. For it being later in the evening it had a pretty long wait. It was another boat ride and pretty fun!
We browsed through some shops in the rest of the countries. We have one picture of us from Epcot. I was so exhausted I didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked.
Sunset
These pictures were taken in the UK shops. I thought it was neat that they have some of the same candy as the US and some that is different.
We were exhausted after all that walking and we wanted to stake out a good spot for the fireworks show. We found a bench and rested for awhile then found this spot which was a great spot for the fireworks until everyone started crowding around.
Once the show started ash started coming from the air into our hair and eyes so we started walking back to the monorail early. Good thing we did because as we were leaving we looked down and saw a looooong line for the monorail.
Overall it was a fabulous trip and I would do it over and over again. We can't wait to bring our kid(s) to Disney someday. What a magical place! So many great memories made!
