Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom!

So before I get into our adventures let me tell you two huge things I forgot that made me so mad! Previously to the trip I specifically went out and bought 2 different drawstring backpacks that were $5 each and left them both in SC. What?!!! Rob was convinced we didn't need a backpack and thought it was so "Dad-like" to carry one. LOL But I wanted something for my fan, water bottles, snacks, and camera. So we broke down and bought one in the Gift shop. It wasn't too expensive- $25.  Soon after arriving and unpacking, I also realized I left my tennis shoes (that I was planning on wearing the entire trip) in SC too!  The next best thing I had were an old pair of Crocs. This is the crazy part. For 2 days I kept looking for a comfy pair of shoes and I learned really quickly that every Disney shop sold the exact same things. The only type of shoes they sold that were anywhere near comfortable were....Guess WHAT? Crocs.  By the third day my feet were killing me so badly that I broke down and spent $40 on a pair of Disney Crocs that I will rarely wear again.
Lesson Learned- Do NOT forget important things. I blame it on Pregnancy Brain because let me tell you it definitely exists.

We had one set of park hopper tickets so we decided to go to Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom. On Tuesday we got up and took the bus over to Hollywood (which I still call MGM BTW)

There's the famous hat Mickey wore in Fantasia! Lots of people too!

There were several rides we knew we couldn't go on like Tower of Terror, Rock n' roller coaster, and Star Wars which we were both bummed about but we went on several other fun rides.

The Great Movie Ride- This was one of my all time favorites! So much fun!

Me posing in front of a fake back drop. It looks real doesn't it?

The next ride we went on was the Studio Backlot Tour. This is us waiting while they show you how different visual/ sound effects are used in movies.

Selfie on the train/ bus thing

This was my favorite part because you could feel the heat and the ride rocked back and forth a little.

The other place we visited was the Muppet 3-D show, which is hilarious because we didn't have kids with us. I remember seeing this when I was little and thinking how neat and realistic the 3-D parts were. Now we have 3-D TVs. Crazy how technology has improved. After the Muppet show we decided to get some lunch. I had another reservation for the 50's prime cafe but we went over and looked at the menu first and it was really heavy food like Pot Roast. Which would have been great if it wasn't 90 degrees outside so we found a little place to walk up and get park food. I got a veggie burger and it was actually really good! I was too hot and tired to take pictures at this point. We  decided to head to Magic Kingdom after lunch. But we had to catch a bus to get to the monorail. The bus stop was in the blazing sun in the middle of the afternoon and we had to wait like 20 minutes so by the time we got on I was exhausted and ready to fall asleep. We decided to head to our hotel during the hottest time of the day which was so smart. I took a short nap and we ate a snack. The great thing about going from the Contemporary to Magic was we had the MONORAIL. YAY! No waiting and it comes right through the hotel.

Here's the beautiful view from the monorail.

Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom was packed with people! By far the busiest of the 3 parks!

Rob's favorite ride since he was little is Pirates of the Caribbean. We walked over to Adventureland and rode on that first. I saw a Jungle Cruise and thought sitting and cool breezes sounded nice so we got a Fast Pass and then headed over to the Haunted Mansion.

When we came back for the Jungle Cruise we hardly had to wait at all with the Fast pass. It was so nice! It was still really hot outside!
I had to document Rob carrying the backpack which he was glad we had but I know he felt like a dork.

After the Jungle Cruise we decided to see the Hall of Presidents.
You couldn't take pictures during the show but here is one before. It was so nice and cool and lasted a good 22 minutes! It was so neat to see. They had mechanical robots for each president that looked almost exactly like them and sounded like them too.

Of course we had to get a picture of the castle.

After this we decided to eat dinner. We found a place called Columbia Harbour House where we both had fried fish, fried shrimp, and french fries. Can you get anymore fried than that?
next we decided to head over to Fantasyland which mostly has little kid rides but we wanted to ride Peter Pan's flight. Let me tell you I did not know how popular of a ride that was. There was like an hour wait. So instead we went on Its A Small World! Rob barely fit in the boat. But it was fun!

Next we decided to walk towards Tomorrowland. On the way I saw the Mad Tea Party ride and made Rob go on it with me.

After that we rode on the People Mover ride which was another one of my favorites because it felt like a roller coaster but wasn't. It took you over Tomorrowland and it was fun to people watch and once again sit down. My lower back and feet were killing me. By this point it was probably 8:00 so we thought it would be fun to ride Haunted Mansion again. There wasn't a long wait so that was good. On the way we stopped and took a couple pics with Mickey and Minnie.

We wanted to see the Electric Light Parade which started at 9:00 but there were so many people and they were saving their spots starting at 7:00. We didn't feel like fighting the crowds so we decided to find an ice cream place.
We shared an ice cream cookie sandwich. Delicious!

We had planned on waiting for the fireworks at 10:00 but at this point we were so tired we decided to head back to the monorail. We could have seen them from our hotel but when we got back we went straight to our room and passed out! Exhausting but fun day!
