22 things about my 22 month old!

Since Marshall is 22 months I thought it would be fun to write 22 things about him. Let's see if I can come up with that many things about my crazy toddler!

1. He's a picky eater! He's always been a finnicky eater but its gotten worse over the last month. About 3 weeks ago he flat out started refusing to eat fruit, cheese or drink milk. Prior to this he would eat cheese, strawberries, bananas, grapes, pineapple, and apples. Here's proof he used to looooove apples!

2. His favorite foods are: pretzels, gold fish, crackers, french fries, rice, pasta, meatballs, applesauce and get this GUACAMOLE! One of the only "healthy" foods he will eat is guacamole. He calls it moley and its the cutest thing you've ever heard when he says "More Moley" over and over again when he wants some. He will eat it by the spoonful or dip chips in it. We discovered this when he tried some from Chipotle. This is by far his favorite "restaurant" to eat from. I say "eat from" not "eat at" because we get Chipotle almost every Friday and bring it back to the house to eat. Yummy!

3. He's obsessed with technology- TV, our phones, and the Ipad. It's a pretty unhealthy obsession and has gotten worse since having Luke. I let him watch TV when I'm nursing Luke. I let him play on the Ipad when I need him to be quiet or get something done like cook or clean. What I mean by be quiet is sometimes I need it quiet to put Luke asleep and if he's running in the room screaming, Luke won't go to sleep. There are a couple apps he likes but mostly he watches You tube videos. The videos are shows that we watch on tv so its pretty silly. There's also some good song videos. But these surprise egg videos keep popping up too. What is up with those? You know what I'm talking about if you have kids who watch you tube. So strange!

4. His favorite TV shows are mostly from the channel called Baby First. These shows are Peek a Boo, Baby U, and Notekins. We have Apple TV and love Hulu! We found this show on Hulu called Jammers he really likes that is a cartoon with talking instruments. We also discovered The Wiggles on Hulu. He used to like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse but hasn't been into it much lately. He really likes Dora and Blues Clues and will watch an entire episode of each. The trouble with all this technology is he will ask to rewind his favorite parts over and over again. He says "bewind it bewind it". His little voice is so sweet. Of course we did not have DVR growing up to rewind and fast forward. These kids have no idea how good they have it.

5. He is talking up a storm! He speaks in complete sentences. Ex. "I found my paci!" "I see a bear!" He still talks in phrases too. For instance, if he wants me to hold him he will say "Me Hold You, Me Hold You?" over and over again until I pick him up. He likes to tell us what he is doing like "I climbing" or "I jumping". His new seat thing is "I bouncing". I don't even know where he learned the word bounce. But it's pretty cute!

6. He can count to 10! I think this is from watching sesame street. So TV can be a good thing right? ;) He can also identify a circle and triangle.

7. He knows the following colors: blue, yellow, orange, green, red, purple. His favorite color and the one he identified first is yellow. He requests a yellow sippy cup to drink out of. Once again he probably learned colors from TV. He's been watching the channel, Baby First, forever and there are lots of educational shows that teach colors, numbers, etc.

8. He loves to be outside! Up until a couple weeks ago he would run down the street when we went outside but now he actually plays in the driveway! Yay! This is great for me since having Luke. He loves to push his trucks and cars down the driveway. He also likes to find rocks and leaves. He is all boy!
Playing with the neighbor on our driveway.

9. He loves to slide! We have a mini slide inside and a bigger one outside. He has started rolling his trucks and cars down the little slide inside. He likes to slide when we go to the park too and climb up it of course!

10. He loves to run across bridges at parks.

11. He likes to color and play with play dough. These keep his attention for about 5 minutes at the most. He mostly eats the play dough so I have to be with him when he has it. He will draw straight lines when he colors.

12. His favorite thing to do indoors right now (besides technology) is build forts on the couch with cushions. He loves to take toys in and out of the fort and crash the fort so we have to keep rebuilding it.

13. He is very strong willed and throws tantrums when we take away the iPad or not put on a tv show that he wants or pretty much anytime he doesn't get what he wants- typical toddler behavior right?

14. He started a Mother's Day out program at a church. It's once a week for four hours. He screams and cries when I drop him off. Hopefully he will get used to going.

14. He's going through a scared phase right now. Every time I get him from his crib he says "____ scare you" talking about something scaring him. It all started around when Halloween decorations were starting to come out. He's especially scared of spiders. We tell him it's ok, it's not scary, it's funny or silly depending on what he is scared of.

15. He likes baths sometimes but fights taking one because he knows bedtime is after. We start the bath between 6:30 and 7 and like him to be in bed by 7:30. He wakes up between 6 and 6:30 but I usually don't get him out of his crib until 7 unless he's crying.

16. He still loves books. Especially in the car.
Reading Rob's childhood book- The busiest people by Richard Scarry

Falling asleep with Dora. A picture I can use for bribery when he's in high school. Hehe.

17. He's a climber! Climbs on everything!! Even my feet! When I'm nursing Luke he will come over m, back up to me and try to stand on my feet. He wants to be up high I guess.

18. He's shy around new people and takes at least 30 minutes to warm up to new places or people.

19. He looooves his Daddy! If Rob is home and leaves the room he will say "Dada? Dada?" Rob is a wonderful dad and a lot more patient than I am these days. Probably because hes not with him all day.

20. He has started calling baby Luke by his name instead of baby. He's really starting to interact with him more. He asks to hold him and in this picture he was playing with him. This makes me so happy!
In this picture he was giving Luke kisses on his own.

21. He is definitely a Mama's boy. But we've been together 24/7 for 5 months now. He likes to sit on my lap and snuggle. He will say "sit sit mama" or "walk walk mama" if he wants me to go with him to the other room.

22. He is my sweet baby boy and the one who made me a mama. The last two months have been rough at times but it will get easier and I gave him a lifelong friend and brother. Less than two months and I will have a 2 year old! We are having his birthday party at an ice cream place that has an indoor playground which will be great for cold December!
