Baby registry recommendations

I'm not sure who reads this blog but just in case there is a new mommy-to-be out there who is overwhelmed on where to start or what to register for, here are a few of my favorite things. When I first thought about registering for baby items I was overwhelmed. This is because the thought of starting from scratch and registering for bukoo amounts baby stuff is overwhelming. First I started by googling and looking on piniterest for "registry must haves". This helped a lot. Once I figured out the items we should register for (stroller, car seats, swing, bathtub, etc.) then it was the daunting task of choosing which brand of each item was right or "the best" without being the most expensive. That was overwhelming so once again I resorted to google and piniterest to get started, but what seemed to help the most was researching different brands on Amazon and reading the reviews. I did not step foot into a baby store to register for anything. I read the reviews and looked for things that got 4 or 5 stars. This seemed to be the best way to do it. At the beginning of the pregnancy, Rob and I did go to one of the big baby stores and it was just so overwhelming to see 100 different strollers, car seats, and cribs to pick from. Don't get me wrong it was fun and exciting to look at all the stuff but I liked registering for everything online. I also listened to my mommy friends and their recommendations, which helped too!

Here are my must haves:
You have to have a car seat so you might as well get a travel system. I haven't used the stroller yet since it's freezing and/ or snowing here but hope to soon at the mall!

This swing is great. He loves the mobile and music. It goes two different ways also!

This bathtub has been great because it transitions with them from infant to toddler.

Best monitor ever! You can talk both ways, it plays music, shows the temperature in the room, and of course shows a video of baby!

We have this in the bedroom right now to use the bassinet for him to sleep in and the changing table in the middle of the night.

These blankets are great for swaddling or covering yourself while nursing because they are pretty thin.

Everyone raves about these. We haven't used it much, just when we are eating in the kitchen we put him in it. But they say they are great if baby has acid reflux.

Things I haven't used yet but registered for:

Other things to get before baby arrives:
Newborn onesies with mittens attached. These have been great so he doesn't scratch himself. We had no newborn clothes when he was born. Most people buy 0-3 or 3-6 months clothes for you. None of these fit him. The mittens that come separate are too big and fall off.

Diapers (duh!)- Newborn Pamper swaddlers are what we are using. We like them because they have a yellow line that turns blue when he pees. Most people bought us size 1 and 2 so make sure to get a pack of newborn. The hospital will give you some too.

Bath towels and wash cloths- you will bathe baby within the first couple days.

Lily padz- must have for you! Get them ASAP! They last for months! Thank you Ashley! :)

Nursing tanks- must-have if you plan on nursing!

That sums up baby must-haves for now! Happy shopping/ registering!
