How it happened:
Well let's just start by saying I have been
Jump to April 2011- we had a plan to go to South Carolina because I would be on Spring Break and we needed a vacation. When we were packing and discussing what we should bring I told Rob not to bring his golf clubs because we were taking his car and we had plenty of luggage. He insisted, you will see why in a minute. So we load up the car and drive 12 hours on a Saturday. On Sunday we relaxed, went to the pool, and went to our favorite Mexican restaurant, San Miguel's. At this point I was trying not to get my hopes up. It had only been one day, right?
The next day we woke up, went to the pool and while we were there he ran back to the house to get us some Gatorade. I had no clue what he was really doing. After the pool, our plan was to go to the Boathouse restaurant and then go to the beach and watch the sunset. I started working on a college project that was due that night. I was getting stressed and Rob could see it so he said, "Why don't I go get us some steaks from the grocery and we will just eat in and watch the sunset on the golf course." I was relieved but secretly sad because I thought the only way he would ever propose was on the beach.
I took these pictures at the time not knowing that it would be our special night. Glad I did so we will always have these memories.

We ate a wonderful dinner and he was acting overly happy and talkative throughout. Immediately after we cleaned up, he said lets go out to number 17 hole and watch the sunset. He grabbed a bottle of wine and two plastic cups. I was so nervous but trying not to get my hopes up. I had major butterflies in my stomach on the way to the hole. I purposefully did not get dressed up or put makeup on because I thought if I did, it definitely wouldn't happen. We got out to the 17th green and started watching the beautiful sunset. He opened the bottle of wine and poured us each a glass. He was acting a little strange. He started scratching his arms and telling me the bugs were eating him up. He looked in his side of the golf cart's glove compartment for bug spray and didn't find any. He asked me if I would look in my side. I opened up the glove compartment and THERE IT WAS!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE RING BOX! I immediately jumped out of the cart and started running around the green. Rob told me to come back over and he got down on one knee. I teared up and of course said YES! It was the most magical day ever! Here are some pics, excuse me for not dressing up! LOL!
And one more of the ring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is a back story to the ring. I had no clue that for the month before Rob had been doing so much work to get this ring. The ring lady convinced him to come to a bridal designer show on a Friday. He went during his lunch break and was there for THREE HOURS! I can NOT imagine Rob shopping for anything for three hours let alone a ring. LOL! He ended up finding one there and ordered it. They said it would be ready a month from that date. Rob went to pick it up on the Wednesday before we were leaving and they said it wouldn't be ready for another week. Well that would have bee a week after the vacation and he was planning all along to propose to me on THIS vacation. So he talked to them and they said they had another ring in store they could give him instead of the original ring. He wasn't happy but he looked at it and it was almost identical to the original. They said they could have it ready by Friday, mind you this is only one day before we were leaving, so cutting it close was an understatement. Needless to say it was ready. Wondering where that golf bag comes into play? He decided the best way to get it down to South Carolina without me finding it in the luggage or car, was to put it in his golf bag because I would never look in it for anything. So after he proposed, he told me that is why he had to take the darn golf bag. :) We had a great rest of the week relaxing and reconnecting! It was amazing! Oh by the way, a week prior to our trip he called my Mom and Dad separately and asked for their permission. I thought this was so sweet and so did my parents.
Here are a couple pics from the rest of the week:
